The Hoover Platinum Collection Carpet cleaner is equipped with Hoover’s MaxExtract technology and a 12 amp motor. It also features Dual Scrub technology in combination with SpinScrub brushes that encircle the carpet fibers to help clean out dirt from all angles. This cleaning cycle can be begun with a single button push.
There are 2 spot cleaning settings. The first is a steam setting for cleaning small areas, and the second is a spray setting which is for cleaning heavy traffic spots.
First off the machine washes the carpet, then uses high-powered suction to clear away any dirty water. It also has an ‘Auto-Rinse’ feature that rinses the carpet automatically with clean water. The purpose of this is so that less soap residue gets left behind. To finish off, it supplies direct heat to the carpet so it dries quickly – usually a couple of hours.
The machine comes with a SpinScrub-powered hand tool, a crevice tool which is attached to the 96 inch stretch hose, and an upholstery tool. It also has a blue LED headlight for highlighting hidden stains. When the machine is ready to clean, bright LED lights are lit up to signify you can begin cleaning, and when the tank is empty.

A very convenient feature is that you do not have to mix the detergent, giving you no waste. Also, it is very easy to swap between standard cleaning mode and spot-clean and rinse clean. The water rinse is very effective.
The size and weight of the machine are not the most desirable. It is quite large and heavy. Not great for hauling up the stairs. The machine is built cleverly however. The handle can lay back completely without putting strain on the hose. There are 2 separate rollers which do a very good job scrubbing carpets.
